As Chief Officer of Strathclyde Fire & Rescue I am delighted to welcome you to our website.

As one of Europe's largest fire and rescue services, and the second largest in the United Kingdom, Strathclyde Fire & Rescue is committed to making the communities within its area safe places to live work, and visit. Our service is working hard to drive down Strathclyde's fire death and casualty rate which is much higher than in the rest of the UK.

This website reflects that aim by offering free and simple advice on how to make your home or business safer from fire.

By using this website you can, for instance, book a free home fire safety visit by Firefighters or download fire safety leaflets. You can also learn about fire precautions and regulations in the workplace or order free copies of the amusing and informative Fire Crew CD for children.

The website describes many of the incidents our firefighters have attended and gives detailed information about a wide variety of topics including recruitment, our performance indicators and our Integrated Risk Management Plan for making our communities safer.
