Community Fire Safety

Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Campaigns
a wide range of initiatives are undertaken each year, with the aim being to reduce the number of accidental dwelling house fires and casualties. Examples of such campaigns include:-

  • Provision and maintenance of smoke alarms.
  • Advice on making a fire action plan.
  • Oil and fat pan fires and general cooking safety advice.
  • Fireworks safety.
  • Fire Safety during festive seasons.

The Multi-Agency Approach
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue personnel work closely with representatives from other agencies such as local authorities and the Police, to promote safer communities. It is now incumbent on each local authority to produce a community safety strategy and to plan for safe communities. Fire safety is an integral part of community safety and as such the community firefighter plays a key role in helping make communities safer.
