Fire Station Open Days

Every year Strathclyde Fire & Rescue opens the doors of its fire stations and invites the public in to have a look around. These events give members of the public not only the chance to see the inside of a fully operational fire station, but to experience fire station life for themselves. How many of you know what actually goes on behind those big red doors?

As a matter of course, fire safety displays are held throughout the day, including chip pan fire demonstrations.

Crews are also on hand to give fire safety advice and help visitors devise escape plans, should a blaze break out in their home.

Larger stations also link in with other community partners so there may also be Ambulance and Police personnel and vehicles on hand.

These events are very family orientated so there are always a number of activities to keep the kids occupied should they ever tire of sitting in a fire engine…
