Cattle truck overturns
Fire crews from Girvan and Colmonell Community Fire Stations are
currently conducting operations to make the immediate area safe
after a cattle lorry left the A77 in South Ayrshire between
Ballantrae and Glenapp.
The crews were mobilised by shortly after noon today and on
arrival the Incident Commander was confronted by the overturned
lorry which was carrying 48 cattle.
The lorry driver was subsequently transported to Stranraer Hospital
for treatment but the extent of any injuries is presently
unknown.
Fire crews will remain at the scene for some considerable time and
are working jointly with the Police, SSPCA and a local vet to bring
the incident to a safe and satisfactory conclusion.
The affected section of the A77 has been closed to motorists by the
police.
There is no further information available at this time.
