  • Crews from Helensburgh and Dumbarton were called to a house fire in Dumbarton early on Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters rescued one male casualty who was treated for the effects of mild smoke inhalation.
  • Later that day, crews from Ardrossan, Dreghorn, Kilwinning and Hamilton were called to attend a well developed first floor fire in a block of flats in irvine. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and rescued one male casualty, who was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse hospital suffering from burns and the effects of smoke inhalation.
  • Meanwhile, two crews from East Kilbride donned breathing apparatus to rescue a man from a blazing upper flat, using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire before it could spread to surrounding properties.
  • In Greenock, two local crews attended a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle. Firefighters used extrication equipment to free a man trapped in the wreckage before handing him over to ambulance personnel who took him on to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
