Serious road collision in Dumbarton
At approx 22:11 hours on Tuesday 2 Feb 2010, Strathclyde Fire
& Rescue's operations control received a call to a serious Road
Traffic Collision on Stirling Road between Dumbarton and Bonhill,
Dunbartonshire.
Two fire appliances from Dumbarton and a Major Incident Unit
carrying specialist rescue equipment from Clydebank were quickly
mobilised. Upon arrival the Incident Commander was faced with two
vehicles involved in a head on collision, and several other
vehicles which had to take avoiding action.
The Incident Commander prioritised the rescues, which resulted in 1
adult male who was trapped, being cut free from the wreckage by
Firefighters, with a further 4 casualties treated at the scene.
All 5 casualties were transferred to the Royal Alexandra
Hospital Paisley by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
