Firefighters from Paisley Community Fire Station were mobilsed to a reported shop fire in Paisley's Greenock Road at 5 a.m. this morning.

On arrival the Incident Commander was confronted with a developing fire which was spreading into the roofspace of the single storey shop.

Fire crews overcame initial access difficulties to the premises using hydraulic cutting equipment and subsequently brought the blaze under control utilising a combination of ground and aerial firefighting jets.
