Firefighters rescue woman from Tenement Fire
Today at 1829 the Fire Service responded to a report of fire
within a tenement flat in Thrushcraig Cresent, Paisley.
Two Fire Appliances with crews from Paisley Community Fire
Station were quickly at the scene and confirmed a fire within a top
floor flat of a three storey tenement building.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus immediately entered the
premises to conduct a search for casualties and extinguish the
fire. Upon entering the flat they located and rescued a woman, who
was then taken by Ambulance to the Royal Alexandria Hospital
suffering from severe smoke inhalation.
Firefighters continued to extinguish the fire and confirmed no
further occupants within the premises.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and is currently
being investigated by Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Fire
Investigation and Strathclyde Police.
