Fatal Fire in Easterhouse
At 0515 hours this morning, Saturday 5th June 2010, two
appliances from Easterhouse Community Fire Station attended a
ferocious fire in a first floor flat at Langbar Crescent,
Easterhouse in which persons were reported.
6 Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were required and,
operating a large main water jet and one high pressure water jet
they were able to extinguish the fire whilst performing a thorough
search and rescue.
Sadly, upon entering the living room, one male occupant had
succumbed to the effects of the extreme heat and smoke.
Strathclyde Fire & Rescues Incident Research and Investigation
Section and Strathclyde Police are currently in attendance and
performing an investigation into this tragic incident.
