Scottish Rescue Challenges
Firefighters from the UK, Ireland and Spain competed today in
the Scottish Rescue Challenges hosted by Strathclyde Fire &
Rescue.
The competitions, held at SFR Headquarters in Hamilton,
featured:
- RTC (Road Traffic Collision) rescues, with firefighters using
hydraulic cutting gear to remove "casualties" safely from crashed
cars.
- Line Rescues, where firefighters in harnesses had their
rescue-from-heights skills tested on the tower at the Technical
Rescue Training Centre.
- Trauma, where firefighters demonstrated their ability to care
for casualties at the scene of an incident.
