Coach Crash Rescue
Fire Crews from Abington and Biggar Community Fire Stations, and
supported by Strathclyde Fire & Rescue...
Fire Crews from Abington and Biggar Community Fire Stations, and
supported by Strathclyde Fire & Rescue appliances with
water rescue capability and extrication equipment mobilised just
before 6 a.m. this morning to the A73 at Wiston in South
Lanarkshire following reports that a bus had left the road and gone
down an embankment.
On arrival at the incident crews found the bus on its side in
the adjacent river. The crews immediately began to carry out the
multiple rescues which confronted them whilst working in atrocious
weather conditions.
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue are currently operating closely
with both the Police and Ambulance Service at the scene.
