Multi-story rescue
Three rescued from flat fire
Fire crews from Cowcaddens and Maryhill community fire
stations were called to a reported fire in a multi storey
block of flats at St Georges Road in Glasgow shortly before 4
o'clock this morning.
On arrival, the Incident Commander immediately confirmed that
residents were still within the affected 3rd floor flat of the 8
storey building. Crews wearing breathing apparatus quickly enterd
the premises to search the smoke filled flat and extinguish the
fire.
Two adult males and one adult female were quickly rescued from
the scene by fire crews and placed into the care of the attendant
ambulance crews who subsequently transported the three casualties,
who were suffering from smoke inhalation, to Glasgow Royal
Infirmary for further treatment.
The cause of the fire is being jointly investigated by
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue's incident investigation team and the
Police.
