Fire & Police Crews Attacked

Fire & Police crews had to withdraw from an incident in Angus Road, Larkfield, Greenock for safety reasons following an attack from a group of youths. Missiles were thrown at the emergency services, whilst Fire Crews attempted to put out bins on fire in the area.

Fire Crews from Gourock were called to the incident at 22:38 Hrs and upon arrival requested the attendance of the Police.

Strathclyde Police immediately arranged for additional resourses to the Area, and upon their arrival Fire Crews safely entered the Area and extinguished the fire at 23:13 Hrs.

No members of the Emergency Services were injured and there has been no damage to Fire & Police vehicles.

Strathclyde Police will conduct an investigation into the incident and remain in attendance at the scene.
