Firefighters rescue 3
Fire crews rescued 3 adult casualties from a dwelling house in
South Lanarkshire late last night.
Two appliances from Hamilton Community Fire Station were
mobilised to Elm Street in Blantyre shortly after 11:30 pm on
recept of a message from Strathclyde Fire & Rescue's Operation
Support Centre in Hamilton which had received calls reporting the
incident.
On arrival at the scene the Incident Commander quickly
established that there were residents still inside the mid terraced
property and immediately tasked his crews to enter the premises to
extinguish the fire and carry ouy out any rescues from within.
The fire crews , who were clad in breathing apparatus, rapidly
entered the house, extinguished the fire and rescued 2 adult
females and 1 adult male.
The casualties who were suffering from smoke inhalation were
treated on the scene by ambulance crews but did not require
further hospital treatment.
The cause of the fire is presently unknown and the subject of an
investigation.
