Bonfire night report and the dramatic
photo gallery already reported here on our website, please see
below a list of incidents on Saturday 6th November.
- Crews from Pollok, Polmadie and Govan Community Fire
Stations were called to a fire in a disused public house in the
early hours of the morning. On arrival the crew found that the
upper floor was heavily smoke logged and the fire had spread to the
roof space. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the
building and despite the use of a main jet and a hose reel jet, an
aerial appliance was brought in to assist them. Appliances
were on the scene for several hours due to the scale of the
incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known and is currently
under investigation.
- A crew from Clarkston Community Fire Station attended a cooker
fire at a local property where an elderly casualty had to be
treated for smoke inhalation.
- A crew from Largs Community Fire Station attended a chip pan
fire at a house in the town. Firefighters wearing breathing
apparatus quickly brought the fire under control. The casualty was
treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel
before being transferred to hospital.
