Fire crews attend structural collapse in Glasgow
Thirty five firefighters attend Glasgow incident

Strathclyde Fire & Rescue are currently dealing with
an incident involving a partial building collapse at Victoria Road,
Glasgow.
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue were called to the incident at 6pm
this evening. Fire crews arrived at the incident to discover a
partial building collapse from the first floor drying area of a
four storey tenement building. Large parts of masonry from the
collapse had fallen onto the roof of a single storey snooker hall,
causing its roof to partially collapse.
Firefighters have evacuated residents from the tenement building as
a precautionary measure, and they are using shoring equipment to
stabilise and prevent any further structural collapse within the
snooker hall. Building control officers from Glasgow City
Council are at the incident to assess the stability of the
structures.
Approximately thirty five firefighters are currently at the
incident with four fire appliances. A Major Incident Unit and a
Heavy Rescue Vehicle are in attendance, both of which have
specialist equipment including heavy lifting and shoring
equipment.
There are no reported injuries at the incident.
