SFR Preservation Group showcase vehicles at Tall Ships event

Come along and see a range of vintage appliances at the Tall Ships event in Greenock

This weekend the Tall Ships event comes to Greenock and Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Preservation Group have once again been invited to showcase a range of their vintage vehicles. With around a dozen vehicles on display, there will be plenty for everyone to see. Over the course of the Tall Ships event, which runs from Saturday through until Tuesday, there are a multitude of different shows and features. For more information on the itinerary, please check out the Tall Ships website.

The Preservation Group are currently preparing for the opening of the Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Museum and Heritage Centre  which will be based on the old Greenock Fire Station.

Building work on the exterior of the building has now been completed and the next phase, which will see the interior being transformed, will start very shortly. It is hoped that the museum will open in the autumn of 2011 and we will bring you progress updates as and when they become available.
