Incident update 2 September
A quiet 24 hours for Strathclyde's firefighters

The last 24 hours were fairly quiet for our crews but with a
total of 115 incidents, our firefighters were still kept busy. In
amongst our 'special service' calls was the rescue of residents
trapped in a lift; the extrication of a child who had become
trapped on his bicycle following an accident; the rescue of a man
suffering a heart attack; and a clear-up operation following a
spill of petrol in a service station.
- At 9.35am yesterday morning, crews from paisley Community Fire
Station were mobilised to a block of flats in the town's Bredland
Drive. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in the kitchen of a
ground floor flat.
- At 3.55am this morning, crews from Polmadie and Clydesmill
Community Fire Stations were mobilised to a tenement in Allision
Street in Glasgow's southside. A fire in the kitchen of a second
floor flat was quickly extinguished and firefighters led one
woman to the safe hands of the paramedics, who treated her for mild
smoke inhalation.
