Crews cut casualty free after multiple vehicle RTC
Five car accident in Airdrie

Crews from Coatbridge and Easterhouse Community Fire Stations
attended a road traffic collision during the rush hour yesterday
morning in Airdrie. The accident on Calderbank Road involved
five vehicles.
Four casualties suffering from neck and back injuries were
treated at the scene by ambulance personnel whilst firefighters
used hydraulic cutting gear to free the trapped casualty.
In the early hours of this morning, crews from Coatbridge
and Shotts Community Fire Stations were called to an accident
on the M8 near junction 5 at Shotts. The collision between an
articulated lorry and a bus resulted in three casualties being
taken to Monklands General Hospital and a fourth being taken to
Wishaw General Hospital.
