Busy night for SFR
Firefighters attend more than 100 incidents

FIREFIGHTERS from across the Strathclyde region attended more
than 100 incidents last night. including 32 fires and five
incidents which were not fire related.
At around 9.30pm, crews from Lanark were mobilised to a kitchen
fire in Braxfield Terrace, New Lanark. Firefighters
donned breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet and a
positive-pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire. The
owner of the property was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation
by Ambulance Service staff.
Meanwhile, at around midnight, crews from Sprinburn attended an
RTC in the Barmulloch Road area of the town. Upon arrival crews
found a vehicle that had crashed into a CCTV pole and caught
alight. Thankfully, the driver had managed to escape the incident
unharmed before firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a
hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Earlier at 1.30pm, firefighters from Maryhill came to the rescue
of a man who had trapped his hand a lift doors at the multi-storey
flats in the Wyndford Road area of the town. Firefighters quickly
released the lift door, freeing the man.
