Firefighters attend a range of incidents of the past 24
hours

STRATHCLYDE firefighters attended a range of incidents in
the past 24 hours, including fires and road traffic collisions.
At around 7.45pm yesterday, crews from Troon and Dreghorn
were mobilised to a fire in the West Crescent area of Troon
following reports of a woman inside a house where the kitchen was
on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly donned breathing
apparatus and led the woman to safety before extinguishing the fire
using a hosereel jet. The woman was later taken to Ayr Hospital for
assessment.
Earlier firefighters from Easterhouse were called to an
road traffic collision in the town's Wellhouse Road. Upon arrival,
crews found that an elderly woman was trapped in a car that had
rolled onto its side. Firefighters rescued the woman from the car
and treated her with oxygen before she was taken by ambulance to
Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where she was treated for back and
shoulder injuries.
Meanwhile, at around 9pm, crews from Lanark were called to an
incident in Lanark's Caldwellside Industrial Estate after reports
of car leaving the road. Firefighters arrived at the scene and
rescued a man who was trapped following the incident. The
casualty, who had suffered injuries to his neck, back and legs, was
freed from the vehicle and taken by ambulance to Wishaw General
Hospital. Crews then worked to make the vehicle safe and brought
the incident to a quick conclusion.
