FRANCENE McCONNELL

Francene joined SFB in April 1997 straight out of the skillseeker programme with South Lanarkshire Council.

All of her service has been in the Finance Department where she started as the office junior and through promotion has worked her way up to Cashier.

For several years she has been a helper at the SFR Family Support Trust functions, and recently got involved in the
organising of a golf day fund raising event as the "enforcer". She was also roped into playing in the event, so had to learn golf quickly. She couldn't have been that bad though, as her team won the Iain McGill trophy.

Last year she was given the opportunity to study for her CIPFA Accountancy qualification which is a 3 year course. Part of the qualification requires workplace experience, so being
volunteered for the job as Treasurer to the REA was an ideal opportunity to put her studies into action.
