Your Training
As a new Firefighter (Control) you will attend a 6-week training
course at Operations Support Centre. Whilst attending the course
you will learn basic core skills including Emergency Call Handling,
radio procedures, mobilising procedures and practices and the
operation of various IT based systems. An element of study out with
the course hours may be required.
This training, along with Control room experience forms the basis
for your development over your first 3 years. A Learning and
Development programme is in place and a dedicated team will assist
you to reach the required standards at 3 years service.
