FireReach

FireReach is part of a series of initiatives being delivered by
Strathclyde Fire & Rescue (SFR) to positively engage with young
people. We have been running the programme successfully, alongside
our local community partners, for the past eight years now.
The purpose of the FireReach programme is to provide training
and development opportunities for young people through Fire &
Rescue related activities.
It seeks to develop core skills and link in with key themes of
the new Scottish Curriculum, "A Curriculum for Excellence". The
programme also aims to promote a more positive image of young
people in the wider community.
The FireReach programme usually runs for five full days, over a
week long period, however there is scope for modules to be taught
independently, in order to reduce the length of the course if
required.
